On the Road From Slavery Toward Sainthood
SSND invites you to join the School Sisters of Notre Dame Dismantling Racism Committee on Monday evenings during February, which is Black History Month, for a four-week series focused on six prominent Black American Catholics being put forward for Sainthood. The sessions will be held February 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 7-8:30pm Eastern Time. On Feb 7, Sister Barbara Paleczny will give a short presentation about the early history of Blacks in Canada.
The topics will be:
· Week 1: Up From Slavery - Background Through Current Developments
· Week 2: Acceptance Into Religious Life: History of the National Black Sisters Conference
· Week 3: Toward Sainthood: Venerable Henriette Delille
· Week 4: Toward Sainthood: Servant of God Mother Mary Lange
