 I first knew La Morenita—Our Lady of Guadalupe—in a dream.

La Morenita del Tepayac translates to The Loved Dark One of Tepayac.

 I am grateful to Elizondo Virgil who was moved by my paintings and affirmed how authentic they are to the original Nahuatl poem, The Nican Mopohua. 

A Nahuatl couple similarly loved my painting of The Lady of Guadalupe, telling me that she looks like one of their own.

Virgil Elizondo started his book with Rev 12:1-6. When I heard this scripture, I laughed and laughed with delight and painted The Worst Imaginable Has No Power Over the Most Vulnerable.
